Chemical Peels
There are many types of chemical peels available: superficial, medium and deep peels. The purpose of a chemical peel is to rejuvenate the skin and refresh the skins appearance.
As we age, the process by which we naturally shed the outer layer of our skin slows down dramatically, leaving us with dull, uneven looking skin. We also lose the strength of the underlying elastic collagen which results in fine lines and wrinkles.
Pariser Dermatology offers a superficial peel called Glycolic Acid by M.D. Forte. Glycolic Acid is a type of Alpha Hydroxy Acid that naturally occurs as a derivative of sugar cane. When applied to the face, it causes superficial peeling, stimulates the underlying collagen to become more firm and helps the skin to retain water.
The benefits of this reaction include: reducing uneven skin tone, improvement in the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles and achieving healthy, younger looking skin. Maximum benefits are achieved with an extended treatment series of peels.
At Pariser Dermatology we choose to use the M.D.Forte product line for our patients comfort. M.D. Forte offers a
unique way to package the glycolic molecules to reduce the amount of irritation. Many peels that are available need to have a high concentration of acid to be effective, but many times the concentration can be too high and treatment has to be discontinued. Some peels that are less irritating have a much lower concentration of acid, but the effects of the peel often produce little to no reaction.
M.D.Forte has researched glycolic acids for over twenty years and is the first to describe what is called “partial neutralization.” The glycolic acid is released over an extended period of time, so we can offer you a product with a high concentration of glycolic acid with much less irritation. This is the way to achieve maximum benefits and beautiful results.
